To look at it now, you’d hardly believe what happened here all those years ago.
What happened?
It was terrible. He was evil. The things he did.
No, I think…
Awful. Held them captive for months. Nobody knew they were here.
Actually that….
He disappeared. Left them trapped in the cellar. When they discovered them it was too late.
Listen, that was….
They weren’t the first you know. What they later discovered shocked the nation.
Mate, stop. You’re…
Villa 346 went down in history.
Yes, but this is 345!
Ah, 345! That Scottish bloke lived here…
No. that was…oh, I give up!
Friday Fictioneers is hosted by Rochelle. C E Ayr provided this week’s photo. Thank you.
Poke the purple frog to see what everyone else has come up with!

Okay. That made me chuckle. (do me a favor and keep the idiot in chief over there, Keith)
I’ll try my best! Cheers Denise.
A mistake anyone could have made
Absolutely! Cheers Neil.
Haha. Too funny. Some people don’t listen.
Too right! I bet we all know someone like that!
Love it Keith. 🙂
Thanks so much.
Sensationalism at its best. Great take.
That word fits perfectly! Thanks so much.
Good one. Made me laugh 😀
Mission accomplished! Thanks, Colline.
Dear Keith,
That Scottish bloke should be held at arm’s length. 😉 You made me laugh. 😀
Shalom,
Rochelle
PS I’m copying the purple frog. 😉 Thank you.
I hoped you might Rochelle!
I’m guessing, Keith, that you are the first speaker in this dialogue.
And that Scottish bloke wishes he lived here!
Are you suggesting I’m a chatterbox? Actually it has been said!
It really impossible to put in a word in some people’s conversation! A good story
i know! Thanks Sadje.
You’re welcome
Murder follows that guy around Doesn’t matter which house the scottish guy lived at, there’d be a dead body or two around.
Either that or he follows murders around! Cheers Sandra.
Ha ha! Well done, you! This was fun! (and I would not want to live in 346 … ) 😉
Nor me! Thanks so much Na’ama
I bet the Scottish bloke had some dark secrets to keep as well. Good fun Keith.
Oh yes! Glad you liked it Iain
I liked the way you built tension with repeated interjections to the narrative. The clever bit was using them to draw the character of the speaker. Nice work, Keith!
That’s so kind of you Penny, thank you.
Haha. This was a fun read, Keith. He’s got his history mixed up doesn’t he?
Just a bit! Thanks so much.
Hmm, apparently the murderer lived next door.
Good one, Keith.
…unless they got that wrong too! Cheers Russell
He’s obviously not going to stay in either of them after that!
…just in case! Cheers Liz.
Don’t confuse him with the facts. Fun tale, Keith.
Thanks so much Fandy.
Oh my, mistaken identity….LOL! Well done.
Absolutely! Thanks Donna.
I like the dynamic tension you created. Sounds like the guy knows the scoop on everything. Well-written story.
Oh yeas – he’d make a great fake news reporter!
Maybe there are some nice places to live up the road!
You are probably right but I think our man would beg to differ! Thanks Mimi.
Ha! It seems like he has a story for everything! Love it! 🙂
Some people are like that – I’ve met one or two! Thanks Sascha
Interesting that the “Scottish bloke” lived right next door to the house of horrors… 😉
Or did he get that wrong too? Cheers.
It’s easy to get houses mixed up. A good thing he’s not a tour guide. Hilarious, Keith. How come that “Scottish bloke” is associated with so many murders? Of course, he is a writer. We know they can be a bit weird. A good story and well-written dialogue. 😀 — Suzanne
I think a flurry of Scottish references was inevitable when C E Ayr provided the photo! Thanks so much Suzanne.
Yes, that would do it. 😀 — Suzanne
ha ha one number makes all the difference I see
…so often in life! Cheers Larry
Love the way the you build up the suspense through dialogue – the tabloid talking person dominating the factual person. Cleverly written.
I couldn’t put it better myself! Thanks so much
Interesting. Every villa has a story.
Not all know of the stories 🙂
Have a great week!
Indeed they do…hence the word villainous! Cheers Anita
May be house was wrong, but what happend was real. Or was it? Are sure, memory did not fail him?
I can assure you, he gets everything wrong. Well, usually! Thanks Abhijit.
Beautiful, Keith. Had me guessing, then laughing 🙂
…which is actually the response I hoped for! Thanks so much Linda.
I guess he didn’t have his listening ears on … chuckle chuckle
A story about crime with a chuckle ending.
Isadora 😎
Too right Isadora! Thanks so much.
Entertaining story! I’ve known people like this and had conversations like that before. Funny!!
I know somene exactly like this and it’s she that inspired my story. (I hope my friend Rosey doesn’t read this!)
There’s nothing like a humorous tale of torture and murder. Some people know all… except when to stop talking and listen.
I’m 100% with you! Cheers.
Fun story!
Thanks Dawn
I love this, and it reminds me of a skit used in several of the old Charlie Chan movies, where Charlie meets up with an old friend, and they start to catch up with each other’s lives, but each one gets only a few words in before the other guy answers or responds — getting in only a few words — before the first guy does the same. And to them the whole conversation makes sense, of course. It goes on for about 4 or 5 minutes in each of the movies, and they never do finish one sentence until they say “Goodbye.”
I’m not aware of those ‘conversations’ but they sound hilarious!I’m so pleased you like my piece, thank you so much.
Lovely, I know people like this. Too funny
Me too! Thanks so much.
You’ve got to love a good story though eh?!
Absolutely, even if it is a little misplaced!
it looks like somebody has a lot to drink. 🙂
That’s one explanation I guess! Cheers plaridel.
I’m thinking 345 or 346, doesn’t matter 😉
Methinks there is definitely murder and mayhem in that there complex.
Not a street I’d wish to live in that’s for sure!
Ha! Sounds like one of those neighbors who *really* likes to talk. I’m sure the non-murderer villa is just fine. And that this conversation will go on for a while. 😉 Make me chuckle at several points.
Every neighbourhood has one I’m sure! Delighted you enjoyed it, thank you.
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. I can relate. Loved this.
I quite agree! Thanks Margaret.
Hahaha! We all know people like this. Who know every detail of everyone’s lives and somehow still not get any closer to the truth.
Absolutely! They know all, but nothing at all!
This made me laugh. some people just dont listen and jump to conclusions.

I have a feeling this ‘storyteller’ has something to say about every place. What REALLY happened doesn’t seem important to him. 😉
You could be right – thank goodness he’s not a tour guide!
Ha! Ha! That Scottish dude is one of the biggest mass murderer in history. How he gets away with it every week remains a mystery.
I know, and in plain sight too! Thanks Subroto.
This was great fun. Just shows that the loudest people most often also are the wrongest people. Reminds me of someone… 🙂
A political person maybe? Cheers.
Mayyyybeeee… 🙂
Bahaha this gave me a good laugh
Everyone but Rosey laughed I suspect! Cheers Laurie.
