for Friday Fictioneers, and loosely based on Rochelle’s picture of glass roses.

I saw Rosey on Saturday in the mall. Said she was getting some glasses.
‘Wine glasses? Beer?’ I asked.
She giggled, poked me in the ribs then trotted off.

I was enjoying a quiet pint last night. Suddenly there was an enormous crash. Someone had walked straight into a drinks-laden table! I spun round to see a young lady wiping the laps of three beer-drenched guys with her scarf. Then she turned and headed my way. It was Rosey sporting an enormous pair of spectacles.
‘Hello, Rosey’ I chuckled. She raised her glasses and peered from beneath them.
‘Oh, it’s you! Like my specs?’
‘Nice, but you can’t see anything!’
‘I know’
‘Good idea then?’
‘Probably not!’
‘Drink?’
Chardonnay, please.

This is my 124th story about My Friend Rosey. The last one, ‘My friend Rosey, an inflatable dummy and some gin’ can be found Here! My favorites are on a dedicated site simply called My Friend Rosey.

As a newcomer to the world of spectacle wearing, I can sympathise! 🙂
Time to change your profile picture then! Cheers Iain
Bi focals, I’m assuming?
Probably quadrafocals by the way she was behaving! Thanks Sandra.
Dear Keith,
Sandra beat me to the punch. Bi focals are hard to get used to, aren’t they? Chardonnay is a grand solution. L’chaim.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I suggesed she tried wearing them upsidedown! Didn’t help – but at least the vino did!
Do you have Rosey’s phone number, please?
(I’ve just been to Russell’s and I’m on a roll)
I do – what’s it worth? Stab-Ya, Stab-Ya, Die!
Keith, this one had me laughing almost from the get-go. I could easily visualize the situation.
…that’s because your glasses work! Cheers G.
Poor Rosie, foiled again! After all her embarrassing episodes, her friends should chip in to send her on a nice little holiday abroad. 😉
Please don’t give her ideas Christine!
Hi Keith – glad I only wear reading glasses … but can empathise with her. She does experience life – yet happily continues on … great little tale -cheers Hilary
Me too Hilary. If her life was hum-drum she’d soon get bored!
What fun! Chardonnay sounds good.
I agree – ‘à votre santé’ as Rosey says when she’s showing off her German (even though it’s French!)
Nice one, Keith. I’m debating whether or not to get bifocals.
Please don’t be put off my Rosey’s experience!
Oh, I’m not put off by your Rosey’s experience. I have been debating about getting bifocals long before now.
Tell her they will make glasses with no prescription so she can enjoy the look the frames give her without bumping into things.
She didn’t need glassses so she faked her eye test just to get some! Your idea sounds far better – I’ll mention it to her!
Another fun adventure.
That’s my gal! Cheers Lisa
If she wanted to simply make a fashion statement, maybe better to get a prescription… 😉
Something tells me the three didn’t mind her “help”…
That’s exactly what I told her. She pretended not to hear me so I suggested she get a hearing aid too! As for the guys – no problem!
Ha ha ha!
I happen to know from experience that Chardonnay does not improve eye sight…J/S. 🙂
You’ve noticed? Me too!
Ha ha ha, and yaaayyyyyy, Rosey is back 🙂
She’s never far away! Thanks Anurag
Rosie simply wanted to drink wine, preferably free never mind the price.
As usual! Thanks Abhijit
All in the name of fashion!
Exactly! Cheers Draliman
Nothing a glass of wine can’t fix!
The ultimate cure-all! Cheers Tannille
Sometimes, it’s good to keep blind faith on spectacles. Fun one, Keith.
Perfectly put Varad!
perfect visual Keith!!
That’s kind of you Violet, thanks.
Sounds like Rosey will be buying beer and wine glasses as well after her stumble. Im more likely to do this if I take my glasses off!
I reckon she will! Thanks so much for dropping by.
New glasses are always hard to get used to. Rosey sounds like an interesting character. I will read more. 🙂 Cheers!
Rosey has difficulty with anything new as you’ll discover! Thanks Debbie
Silly Rosy. New glasses do take some getting used to. Made me smile!
She takes ages getting used to anything new! Cheers Brenda
Perhaps, the chardonnay will help her see more clearly. Poor fella’s who are wearing their beers.
Fun story. I shall have to pop over to see more Rosey tales.
Isadora 😎
I’ll tell her you are on your way – don’t forget to take a bottle!
👍😊😎
I like the ‘loosely based…’ From glass roses to Rosey’s glasses. I like the stretch.
I was feeling rebellious! Thanks so much.
Should she really be drinking in those glasses? A light hearted fun read, I enjoyed this.
She probly took them off so she didn’t miss her mouth! Thanks James.
Only got my varifocals a month or two ago, very funny and I can sympathise
The first time I wore mine I felt dizzy – and I hadn’t had a glass of wine!
i guess anyone can make a spectacle of herself if she can’t see. 🙂
Pun of the day! Thanks Plaridel.
Perhaps she had some drinks before buying the glasses!
That wouldn’t surprise me at all! Thanks Russell.
Rosey always bounces back – I’d like some of that please !
All it takes is a glass of vino! Cheers WWM
Ha ha! Too funny! I like her already! 🙂 Well done!
She’s a popular lass around these parts! Thanks so much.
Ah poor Rosey, the Chardonnay will make it better. It’s lovely to see a Rosey story again, I do miss her antics.
She’s never far away, especially if there’s a bottle of Chardonnay around! Thanks so much.
lol great story You can’t help but love Rosey
Thanks Marja – I don’t know what I’d do without her!
Looks like Rosey has been making a spectacle of herself again. A fun story.
Nothing new there! Thanks so much.
Tis better to look good than to see where you’re going. When everything looks blurry, you can save money on your drink tab.
You’re on the same page as Rosey! Cheers Russell
Wonder who she borrowed the prescriptions from… sounds like she became legally blind.
I’ll ask next time I see her! Cheers Björn
Hahahaha what a character!
At night, certainly! Thanks Laurie.
She sounds like a lot of fun!
Oh, she is! Thanks Fatima
