Let me see – been there, been there, been there, not been there, been there, not been there, been there…I’ve almost reached the bottom step of my bucket list, not that buckets have steps but you know what I mean!
I love flying but I hate airports, especially going through security. ‘Take your belt off, take your shoes off’. My trousers fell down once, and on one occasion I tried putting on someone elses shoes after getting the all clear! As for that bridge thing you walk through; it always beeps at me, then I get fondled by some nosey parker.
I wish I could fly. I don’t mean in an an aeroplane, I’m forever doing that. No, I mean actually fly. Flap my arms and take off! No need for airports then!
Birds fly (obviously), butterflies fly (the clue’s in the name), flies fly (that’s why they’re called flies I guess), but not me. If I was a bird I’d be a seagull and feed off unsuspecting people’s chips! I’d never be a butterfly, I’m not pretty enough, but being a fly would be fun except when people I irritated tried killing me, that swat I’d dislike, pardon the pun!
As I was saying, been there, been there, not been there ……

Now that’s a nice idea!

Cleverly done introspective approach. I think I might enjoy flying, sans the aircraft- myself!

🙌Love the journey Keith – the audio is really effective, I’m with you, being able to fly is top of my genie-wishes, I had a wonderful dream once (about 20 years ago!) – I flew out of a window and soared over the fields and trees over lanes, houses for what seemed like an age – magical and I can still see it 🕊️

You know TSA has finally given up on taking shoes off. I have pre-check which is good but now plenty of people do so it isn’t always easier. I love to travel and I don’t mind the airports. I do love being in a car though and stopping at something that looks interesting.

In twelve days time I’ll be going through airport security yet again! I’m sure it will be worth it though!

The thing to remember when going through TSA and feeling the frustration is that 99.99% of the wackos will be caught before causing any harm in the terminal!

Oh gosh, you did it again! I can’t stop laughing. And I don’t fly–I got sick on a plane once, that did it for me. I think I’d rather do a bus trip…even if it took the rest of my life to arrive at my destination. Have a blessed week, Keith!

As long as you get there in the end – without being sick!
Thanks so much, Rene.

So witty, and I love the recording, Keith! 😀 Are you an actor, by any chance? You gave every word the perfect inflection.
I used to love flying, but, unless you can afford first class (I can’t), the planes are so cramped and devoid of amenities now, it’s no longer a pleasure. Much better to be a bird!

Haha, no, as much as I’d like to be I’m not an actor!
I put up with planes because the inconvenience is outweighed by what awaits me!

Love your story Keith. I don’t think I’ve been to any of these places except Dubai- in transit, and yes- New York. And I always have trouble at the airport security checkpoint too! Thanks for joining in.
