She’s forever blowing hot and cold.
She’ll come up it an idea which I think is crazy then use her powers of persuasion to bring me round to the point where I find myself feeling enthusiastic about it. Then she’ll change her mind and I end up arguing the case I once thought to be ridiculous!
For example, we were discussing where we should take our autumn break. I said I’d always wanted to head across the Arctic Circle, see some icebergs and maybe a polar bear or two. She said it was silly idea, we needed somewhere warm before winter sets in. Once again I was persuaded and began looking forward to a week beside a pool in sunny Tenerife. Where were we three weeks later? Iceland, when I’d rather have been in the Canary Islands! She drives me bananas!
I often think that for the sake of my sanity we should go separate ways. But if I was to suggest it, she’d somehow talk me round. Then she’d change her mind and I’d end up regretting what I thought was once a good idea.
This blowing hot and cold thing is clearly catching, even I’ve fallen victim to it now!
