…a few thoughts that entered my head as I attempted to squeeze into some clothes that fitted perfectly a week ago – inspired by this week’s What Do You See? photo prompt.

I ate too much over Christmas. I always do. I really should hop onto my scales to see how much my weight’s increased. However, I’m a great believer in not doing today that which can be put off ‘til tomorrow!
Have you ever noticed that tomorrow never comes? I’ll go to bed tonight, have a nice sleep, enjoy a dream or two, then wake up in the morning only to find it’s not tomorrow, but another today!
As I was saying, sweet things, sticky things, sloppy things and mouth-watering things all make you put on pounds – or kilos depending where you are! If boring foods were the most fattening, there wouldn’t be a problem. I’d have no difficulty in giving up sprouts or lettuce or that low fat yoghurt stuff.
I love bread, don’t you? Sadly, it’s one of the biggest culprits. Sourdough, rye, brioche, pitta and good old white sliced. This morning, as I watched the sunrise it dawned on me. It rises in the yeast and sets in the waist!
I love watching the sunrise, don’t you? I adore sunsets too. I’m not sure which I prefer, they both have their ups and downs.
Someone with a long name once said the secret to a good morning is to watch the sunrise with an open heart. I say every cloud has a silver lining, but every sunset has a golden horizon.
Listen to me getting all deep and meaningful! Well, I have my moments. I’ll leave you with another thought. Wouldn’t it be nice if every day was a sun-day?

Thanks to Sadje for hosting.

A delightful share, Keith. Yes to the beauty of hope that fills the heart at watching a sunrise. You are right and your point is deep. Awesome.
P.S. I love bread too….yay!
One of the few things mankind hasn’t manage to destroy. Thanks, Suzette.
-and I wasn’t refering to bread – you should see my efforts at baking it!
Exactly! Happy New Year Eve (to come) Keith..
Oh, I love this post. I have an artisan bread baking certificate from a local culinary school. I could live on bread!!!
Wow, I’m impressed! What a great skill to have.
oh, what lovely words
Aww, thank you, Beth!
Oh I love your fun/ pun filled post Keith. Welcome back my friend and thanks for the smiles.
Thanks so much Sadje, great to be writing again!
You are very welcome 🤗
Nice post Keith. I haven’t got on the scales yet but my sugars have gone up! Happy New Year to you and yours.
I’m putting it off until I’ve eaten all the leftovers – I’d hate to waste them!
Ha! I weighed myself this morning and did a double take as I;ve lost a pound, despite all the bad stuff! Not going to get all cocky though. Everything we have left has a long shelf life, so no rush! Happy New Year!
This is so great; unfortunately, now I’m starving. Off to the kitchen; time for dinner! Welcome back, dear Keith.
Nicely done! It’s good to see you back.
Your writings never fail to entertain me, Keith <3 ~ well done, once again!
Much love,
David
Oh well done, Keith! I’m munching just now too😉
Tromso looks beautiful all covered in snow. Not so sure about the menu though!
This is brilliant, Keith! My sister just made a mustard-rye bread. Out of this world!
As always, raising a hearty chuckle that thankfully does not settle on the waist! A delightful write, Keith.
