My neighbour asked me if I could give him a hand.
I could hardly say no, especially as he’d just helped me carry my shopping upstairs.
He wanted me to steady his ladder as he climbed onto his roof. He was going to attach a new TV aerial to his chimney. Well, it was the least I could do.
Once up there, I assumed my assistance was no longer required. Wrong! He asked me to take his toolbox up to him. I wasn’t keen because firstly there was no one to steady the ladder for me, and secondly, I don’t like heights.
But I could hardly say no, as the other day he’d held a hook in position while I screwed it to the wall.
Up I went, but when I got to the top of the ladder we couldn’t quite reach each other so I had to wriggle and writhe my way up the tiles, not an experience I’d wish to repeat!
So there we both were, sitting on the rooftop. He asked me to hand him a screwdriver. Unfortunately, I clumsily let go of it and it dropped into a chimney pot.
He asked if I minded going down, popping indoors, collecting the tool from the fireplace, wiping the ash from it and bringing it back up again.
I could hardly say no because he once helped me chop a log so I ….
I’m becoming bored talking about it and you are probably becoming bored hearing about it, so I’ll cut what could have become a very long story short and just say…
The End!
P.S. The aerial fell off the chimney yesterday and he asked me if I’d give him a hand. I could hardly say no…oh, never mind!

It’s ok to say no if something makes you uncomfortable. Takes practice but worth it. Besides helping with shopping bags isn’t exactly dangerous.
Very true, Patricia!
Thats the thing about taking… have to give in return 😂
lovely take, Keith
Indeed you do! Thanks, Destiny.

Just a bit! Thanks for hosting , Sadje.
My pleasure. 🙏🏼
I’m having trouble with my garage door. Can you pop over to Canada and help me out?
On my way!
Quite the adventure — well told as always.
…for a reluctant adventurer! Thanks, Christine.
Yikes!
That’s what I said a couple of times!
I love where your mind goes with the photo prompts Keith 😀- and I’m never bored with your stories – The End 😊
Your newest posts are not showing up in my feed, and i’m very cranky about it.
Don’t ask him for help any more and you will get out of these situations!
