for Sadje’s What Do You See? prompt

Tilly was tickled pink when I said she could do some painting. And not just pink, green and blue and yellow too!
I was only gone for a moment or two, but in that short time, she changed my stylishly subdued decor into a technicolour melee! It took me a while to spot her, she blended in so well!
Do you know what? I actually began to like it. A new me, a new image, a new… everything!
We spent a while adding some finishing touches, she the lower bits, me the upper regions, and then the transformation was complete. As an added bonus, my formally formal attire was now a multicoloured mish-mash, and I liked that too!
We did that slap-clap link-little-fingers thing that kids do then we admired our work.
Only one problem, the wife was due home any minute.
You don’t want to know what happened next.

Yes! Color does add sparkle to the eyes… a lovely transformation indeed. Great story Keith.
Thanks so much, Suzette!
Painting in such fancy formal attire always leads to big trouble with the wifey
Don’t I know it!
Hehe! I am very interested to know what happened, Keith!
Reads like good memories . . .
I’m pleased, thanks so much.
Hilarious! Like the cat in the hat book
Indeed Beth!
I have been noticing you have your stories written almost before the prompt appears leading me to believe you have inside information about the picture.
If only! No, sometimes stories appear in a flash, quite useful for flash fiction!
What the wife will do will likely depend on who will have to fix the decor and/or pay for the cleaning bill.
Guess who!
😉
lovely take on the prompt keith!!!
Thanks, I’m so pleased you liked it.
Hi Keith – I can’t imagine … and the perpetrator isn’t of an age to do much. I think sitting down having a bottle of wine, perhaps a take out … then collapsing overnight and think about redecorating – the perpetrator’s colour scheme will no doubt wash off in the shower. The image prompt is brilliant – in more than one way! Cheers Hilary
That sounds like a good idea to me!
What can a loving grandma do but laugh at the fun and love shared by her husband and their sweet little granddaughter? It will all come out in the wash … all except the memories!
Absolutely so!
Turn your back on a child at your own risk!
Done that, been there…!
I’m sure she was delighted with the new decor. A lovely story Keith. Thanks for joining in.
Of course, modern, bold…!
