Cheers to the Wykeham! ❤️🍻
The first and last stop of my visit! Cheers!
Verdi! What else in such a wonderful church.
A full symphony orchestra and a 120 strong choir in a cathedral with incredible accoustics! Amazing!
Thanks for the pictorial tour.
The pleasure’s mine, Sadje.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is such a pleasure to share. Keep ’em coming!
Thanks, Jodi. Fear not, I shall!
Didn’t know Austen was buried there! Beautiful shots, Keith, atmospheric. I thoroughly enjoyed them.
She spent her final few weeks in a small house in Winchester to be closer to her doctor. I always feel awkward walking over her memorial stone knowing she’s just a few feet below me!
Thank-you. Every week your WW saves me so much in travel money! Your photos are inspiring and beautiful!
Mitch
…and it costs me a fortune!
Thanks for your kind words, Mitch.
What? No Winchester Cathedral music? I now have that song stuck in my head!!!! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EmLqL6HlwNg
This song plays in my mind every time I visit the Cathedral! However, it was very different from the music I experienced during my visit!
it’s really, really pretty there, and I love how you ended in a pub!
It’s an amazing little city. I love to end in a pub, especially that one!
Spring is a wonderful season, everywhere it’s blooming and the sunshine lifts the mood ! Very pretty photos !
Indeed, it was unseasonally warm during my visit, hence all the people sitting around enjoying picnics!
Love the cathedral. Most beautiful. Love all the spring blossoms. Spring is such a magical time of year. Hubby and I want to join you for a pint or two. Cool place.
Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂
If only you could! Cheers, Sandee.
Gorgeous pix, dear Keith! Thanks for another delightful tour!
The pleasure’s mine, Nancy!
It’s a delight to go with you on these excursions!
I’m pleased! Thanks so much, Mimi.
Great photos, I’ll check back next week too. That Dark Star looks refreshing.
It certainly was! Thanks for joining me, Shiju!
Beautiful cathedral but Mom says they are all so much alike inside, still amazing architecture. Pubs are always fun and interesting as they all have their own personality.
Mom makes some very good points!
How amazing is it that you have taken us to the resting place of the great Jane Austen! Thank you so much!
Sad to think she died aged just 41. She had so much more to give.
Beautiful photos of Winchester and the Cathedral. It is a long time since we were last there and I think we need to take another visit.

I lived there for several years and still consider it be my spiritual home. I go back as often as I can.
That is so very beautiful. Lovely. Such great pictures. I would love to visit there. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
You’d love it, I know!
THat little fund raising slot is very cool – tho I guess it gets less now we all use cards….
That’s true. They have raised a lot over the years and they even sponsor a choirboy.
Talking to plants would be very theraputic.
I find it so, whether or not they agree I have no way of knowing!
Hi Keith – I’ve never been in … round and about, but never visited … enticing. So glad you obviously had a good time – and thanks for the photo – cheers Hilary
What a lovely visual stroll through Winchester, Keith! The cathedral looks absolutely majestic, and now I’m curious which pub is your favourite—it looks so cozy! Thanks for sharing these delightful glimpses.
Happy Monday!
Wonderful photos Keith. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Winchester Cathedral is stunning! I love your photo of the cathedral between the trees.
And The Wykeham Arms sounds very much like a fine establishment to enjoy an ale…or two! Cheers..
