The name’s Idea, Ivan Idea. That’s not my real name of course, but in my line of work it pays to be discreet.
In my long black coat with its upturned collar, dark glasses and a tilted trilby hat, I blend in with my surroundings and go about my business unnoticed.
I’m a private eye, a dectective that even those who uphold the law are in awe of.
Poirot’s cells were grey, mine are golden. They outsparkle Miss Marple’s and as for Sherlock’s, sedimentary dear reader.
Recently, I was asked to discover why items were disappearing from a mailbox. For me, it was an open and shut case.
There was the mystery of a massive hole that appeared in someone’s garden. I soon got to the bottom of it.
Right now I’m following somebody. His wife thinks he’s up to something, playing away from home so to speak. I’m over here, crouched in some bushes. They are a bit prickly but as a wise person once said, no pain no gain.
My binoculars are trained on the second window from the right, two floors up. Modesty prevents me from describing what I’m witnessing. I say, they are really going at it! Oh my goodness, my bins are steaming up!
I must pull myself together, avert my gaze and turn my attention to the window I’m supposed to be watching, top floor, fourth from the left.
Oh, nobody there . Never mind.
Meanwhile in the second window two floors up …

Delightfully punny, Keith.
And such a modest private eye.
Actually he takes ‘private eye’ to a whole new level…

Hmmm, he’s not going to solve the case this way, although he’s clearly not too worried about it right now. Fun story!
