Pinkie, we call him! Not due to his complexion, though it is somewhat ruddy, but because of his penchant for pink attire!
His passion for pink came about unexpectedly following a laundromatic faux pas when a red scarf found its way into a multitudinous mass of pale-coloured slightly soiled garments.
Having washed, rinsed and spun his raiments, imagine his surprise when he discovered the contraption’s contents were blushing as pink as cherry blossom!
His initial shock was short-lived however when he realised he quite liked what he saw.
Here comes Pinkie now. I don’t believe it, he’s dyed his hair!

Living in a house with only the male species, we all saw our share of the dreaded pink undies. As I was the washer woman, I was naturally blamed for the errant red sock getting mixed in with the white t-shirts. My response was for the men to start doing their own laundry. My sons now do all the wash for their own little families! A life lesson handled as only a mother can. 🌹

Dear Keith,
A similar thing happened to me when I washed a new purple dress with some light colored items. I now have a few pieces of lavender unmentionables. 😉 At any rate, your piece brought back memories and gave me a morning chuckle.

Thanks, Rochelle. Knowing your passion for purple, having items in varying shades of the aforementioned colour can’t be a bad thing!

I’m not sure where that appeared from but I’m delighted it amused you! Thanks so much, Alicia.

Now that is serendipity. I’m sure he never would have found his preference for pink besides that. It reminds me of the old Simpsons episode where they put Homer in a mental asylum after a similar laundry mishap forces him to wear a pink shirt. 🙂

I don’t remember that episode but it sounds like a laugh! Fortunately, Pinkie didn’t suffer in a similar way!

Pinky likes it so it is a fashion statement, not an accident. I’ve had some creative washing accidents in the past, too. Some turned out to be quite fashionable. Fun story, Keith.

I was expecting something like, “have a cigar”, “which on is Pink?”, or something Floyd. As for the colour, I got a lovely pink line under that word when I spelt it with a U. Fun and relatable story, Keith.
