On the Kent coast in South East England sits the little seaside hamlet of Dungeness. I was camping nearby this time last week. It’s hardly Honolulu, but what it lacks in glitz it makes up for in quirkiness!

60In the UK, it’s probably best known for its power station, but there’s far more to it than that!

    It’s like a living junkyard, but it has a lot of character and you want to go there and see it. Nothing fancy, but probably some amazing food there too.

    A Northern beach has its own charm. I like your interesting views of the colored ropes and the boats. Instead of ale do you like eel? What are your thoughts of the UK’s new minister-president?

    Thanks for taking us along with you to the quaint hamlet of Dungeness.

    There is a certain charm to these little, grunge hamlets in the back and beyond. Basic, yet beautiful in their own way. A great respite from the regular, manicured places one comes across on holidays, especially thanks to Instagram. :))

    The fish must have been fresh and delicious. What was the usual catch of the day?

    Hi Keith – I want to visit Jarman’s cottage sometime … but I’d enjoy the fish and chips, and I’d enjoy the ale! The yellow horned poppy looks as though its well settled in, though very poisonous – Cheers Hilary
