”Thank you for submitting your entry in this year’s Spot the Grammatical Error Competition, Philip, your participation are much appreciated”
“I think you mean is appreciated sir, not are”.
“Just testing you”, bluffed the red-faced professor, “now if you was to succeed, what prize would you like to win?”
“I think you mean if I were to succeed, not was, but to answer your question I’d like a bookmark,” said Philip.
“As you should know by now young man”, huffed the professor, “my name is Archibald not Mark, now what book would you like?”
“No, not a book, a bookmark, one of those things you put between pages … oh, I give up!”

We should be allowed to hang people for bad grammar, I think.

Oh, the irony! Nothing like a grammar nazi being caught out in their own grammar. I find I have a malicious smile on my face! Nice one, Keith. (And I’m just waiting to be caught out myself!)

I was very careful to check my grammar in this piece – and in these replies too!

Hi Keith – I wasn’t relating to the word as such … as could only see Uni … as uni-cycle … not uni (university) … so wasn’t think stoopid! Well done … cheers Hilary

I’m all for good grammar. However, there’s time when discretion is the better part of valour. (Or valor, as my SpellCheck insists.) Shall we get into spelling errors?

I hear Lou and Bud, laughing from beyond the grave. Excellent Six: fun, funny and (from a technical point of view) tricky to execute.

😁😂I like the book, Mark, erm, I mean Archibald, erm, I mean Keith. Reminds me of my dear old maternal grandmother when she would ask me: “How’s your grammar?” And I would think she was asking after my paternal grandmother.
