Something different from me

for this week’s What Do You See? which is brought to us by Sadje.

*I’m just back from my camping trip, burnt to a frazzle by the unrelenting sun, but fully refreshed and eager to get going again! I’ll be posting some photos tomorrow when hopefully I’ll be through the task of sorting them!

0Most of us have a special piece of music. A piece that touches the very depth of our soul and transports us far away from the stresses and pressure of our crowded lives. It may last but a few minutes, but to sit back with closed eyes as it wraps us in a soft blanket of peace and tranquillity is a moment in time well spent.

Mozart died in 1791 before finishing his Requiem Mass in D Minor, and the task of completing it was given to a friend and student. The piece he was composing when he passed was the beautiful Lacrimosa, three and a bit minutes of contemplative ecstasy.

What’s yours?

I remember that music from 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Godfather, but did not know it was Mozart.

I didn’t know it was in those movies – we’ve both learned something today! Cheers, Denise.

I had no idea it was in these films and it is a beauty of a piece, indeed

Thank you Keith for that lovely morning refreshment with your musical selection.
And my favorite is: Beethoven Symphony #7

Thanks, Suzette. The Allegretto is certainly very moving with the way it builds up and up then down again, I play it often.
