ROSEY LARGE BWOne Winter’s day my friend Rosey was in the park with some kids enjoying a snowball fight. 

Wig-wearing priest the Reverend Roger Cross, known to the kids of the choir as The Old Rug-head Cross, was passing by with his little dog, Pontius Poodle.

Unfortunately, one of Rosey’s missiles went astray hitting the Rev on the back of his head and tilting his toupee. Rosey scampered off and hid behind a tree!

The irate vicar spun round to face the children, adjusted his hairpiece and spluttered a profanity!

Then he gazed heaven-ward, whispered a few penitential words and tottered off.

    I laughed until I coughed on that one, Keith. You wrote that just right. Rosey does get up to her antics doesn’t she. I love the priest’s dog’s name and also how the priest toddled off.

    This was so vividly described, I could see it like a movie. Rosie just has the ability to make me laugh and laugh… love the name of the poodle, too.

    Oh, that had me laughing out loud, Keith! The poodle’s name is great.
    A true story. A clergyman in Plymouth had a cat; he named him Magnificat. Even better, they made the clergyman a bishop, whereupon he gave his cat a surname. He became Magnificat Episcopus.
