Gerald and his devoted wife Maisy spent a lifetime producing intricate pieces of furniture. Gerald crafting timber, Maisy, fashioning upholstery.
Hardly a house in the village lacked one of their elegant creations.
In time their once nimble hands weakened. A lifetime of polishing and stitching had to end but not before making something special for themselves.
The entire village turned out to bid them farewell. Their final creations, two satin-draped coffins graced the chapel. Between them, Millicent, their daughter played her violin as the choir sang Gerald and Maisy’s favourite song…
