I love this, Keith. You describe exactly the experience. I remember fingers covered in Quink ink!

And it makes me think of a Schulz cartoon – but then most things do, I’m an addict! Charlie Brown is writing a letter starting Dear Penpal. Many he blots and *&#% later he starts again: Dear Pencil Pal.

Wonderful evocation of an experience youngsters might understand but won’t feel!

I actually have a bottle of Quink. It’s probably passed its ‘best before’ date by now! I’m old enough to remember having ink wells in school desks!

I don’t recall that Charlie Brown episode but I can well imagine it!

      Cheers Jenne.

It’s a common problem with people who haven’t used ink pens in a long time

My pen has a kind of rubber ‘bladder’ thing which you squeeze. I’d love to see what kids make of that!

I had one like that too, in my school days.

I use to have a boss who used a fountain pen that you had to full but pulling the ink into the chamber (not sure what it’s called). I’m less adventurous and use pre-filled cartridges.
What a fun take and presentation!

So, you still use one! Very wise to use cartridges. I’ve tried and although I used to have decent handwriting, today it’s almost illegible!

I haven’t in a while. Hmmm now I want to find it and use it!
And bummer that your handwriting is less than (how often do we get to practice now!)

For a while, two fellow bloggers in the US and I wrote handwritten letters to each other. I can’t remember why we stopped!

Also off walls and antiques …
A friend visited her grandparents when her toddler found Pappy’s desk.
Good thing blood’s thicker than ink …
(Yeah, 22 word comment, because, ya know …)

Thanks Rochelle. I actually do have a lovely fountain pen, but my handwriting is dreadful now!

Bigger Girl is teaching herself to use a quill pen, i only see the letters she sends, not what things look like on the other end.

I feel this one real hard. Hand sanitizer does a pretty good job getting ink stains off skin.

    Keith,
This made me laugh. Not on the nose too but missed the chin by a hair, I bet!! My husband loved fountain pens, until the day it bled into the pocket of his favorite shirt. (TBH, he still prefers them though.)

Oh dear! They do have to be handled with care. There’s still nothing more satisfying to write with though.

Yet again, clever Keith captures the prompt and kills it. I love my Lamy.
