for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is Languid and the limit, 57 words..
Today I’ve reworked and drastically reduced a piece I wrote four years ago!
.
.
Gently stroking the score, a melody plays in his mind.
Once, these fingers danced upon ivory, now they barely grip a spoon.
He places the music on the piano, shuffles to his chair.
His languid eyes close. He imagines his audience, hears applause.
Tears trickle as his ten-year-old granddaughter plays the piece he composed sixty years ago.
.
.
Beautiful Keith

It’s a somewhat sad but gripping story, that ends with hope. That the old pianist has a granddaughter who his music legacy will live on through her.
It teaches us that sometimes there are some things we are required to begin it’s foundation, on which our descendants will build on.
And for that, we would always be remembered and applauded.

I totally agree with you. If only such talents were passed from geneation to generation more often.

If only… That’s what gave birth to the Cadburys and other century-old multinationals.

Very nice on many levels, Keith. So, you are not exclusively humor. Who knew?
