She lost her lucky wristband this morning.  Then she inadvertently walked under a ladder whilst trying to prevent a black cat crossing her path.  Didn’t work though.  

She tried stepping over a cracked paving slab,  but tripped and fell flat on her face. 

She took a mirror from her bag to survey the damage but it slipped from her hand and smashed on the ground.

She spotted a lottery scratchcard in the gutter.  But with all the bad luck she’d earned she saw no point in picking it up. 

I did though and guess what …

I didn’t win a thing!

    Funny one! I got a lottery ticket once as a Christmas present. It was from a family member who knew I don’t gamble, and don’t play lottery. I gave it back to them, saying thanks, but no…they scratched… didn’t win a thing. It was all I could do not to laugh, then. But now, with your story, I’m completely free to. Laughter echoes in the car, too.

      You are indeed! A lovely tale! I always put a scratchcard inside the Christmas cards I send – as far as I know no one has ever won a thing! Thanks so much Bear.

    Superstition and luck are the opposite sides of a battered coin. See a penny pick it up, then all day you’ll have good luck. Provided the bus doesn’t run you over as you reach for the coin.

      Very true James! I’ve been known to stick a coin to the pavement with superglue and watch people trying to pick it up. That’s fun!

    What a picture of an awful day especially for those who are superstitious. Love the deceptive tone at the end…thought for sure…I laughed!
