Another story …

for Friday Fictioneers

bg‘This won’t hurt’ said my friend Rosey crossing her fingers.  It would, but if Jess wanted silky hairless legs, a little pain was a small price to pay!

Jess lay there, eyes screwed shut.  Rosey clutched the waxing strip and commenced the countdown.  Three, two, one … pull!

Jess screamed and shot her other leg straight into Rosey’s shin!

An hour later Rosey was in A&E having her fractured bone fixed.

Walking with crutches was like having four legs, two with a mind of their own!   Somehow, she managed to scrounge an electric wheelchair – that’s another story for another day!

Back in 2007 when I shattered my leg, I told them I was lousy with crutches (having broken a leg in 1968) so they gave me a little scooter I could rest my leg on. And crossing the foyer in my home, I managed to fall off it it. Klutz for sure.

Oh dear, that was a bit unfortunate! Obviousy seemed a good idea at the time!

    Dear Keith,

Oh dear. Waxing isn’t all that pleasant. Where Rosey goes craziness seems to happen, doesn’t it? Fun story…well not for Rosey. (I can’t walk well on crutches either.)

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

It certainly does thank goodness – it gives me plenty of things to write about! Thanks Rochelle.

Hmm I thought this story was going to be different. Plastered is slang for drunk or a least it was when I was young. Love Rosey though. Always entertaining.

That’s a lot to endure just because of the effort for hairless legs!
Phew! Poor girl. Hope all is well soon.

What could be more painful than leg waxing … I can imagine, I guess.

Ouch! I’m sure Jess was in a lot of pain! Oh, the story was about Rosey… OK… 😉

They gave Rosey an electric wheelchair!? I guess they hadn’t read about Rosey before! Painfully fun Keith.

She did cause chaos when she borrowed her Nan’s mobility scooter a few years ago. Next time there’s a suitable prompt I’ll dig the story out again!

Love winter. Long pants and skirts. Let that hair grow! Of course, in the spring you’ll need a scythe. . . . .

    Rosey in a motorised chair?
Good grief, man, what havoc will she wreak!

LOL! Yep, it’s a hazard to do that for someone else … 😉 And, yeah for the crutches, though I was very much a little monkey on those. Buzzing around the hospital, up and down stairs and all … (and no, not from anyone kicking my shin for THAT kind of stuff …) 😉

Being a true gentleman, you could offer to lend Jess your electric razor while Rosey’s esthetic endeavours are on hold.

Rosie is not getting her leg waxed for a few weeks and when the plaster comes off, Jess was get to take her revenge 😉

Ouch. At least when the plaster comes off it should pull the hairs out with it. The electric wheel chair story sounds ominous.

Oh dear! Rosey’s capacity for inadvertent self-harm seems endless! Are Rosey and Jess still talking to each other?

Oh my, crutches can be difficult to navigate. A wheelchair works a lot better but your own two feet work the best.
I remember when my electricity went out during a storm and I told my hubby that my electric chair (recliner) was broken.
Mmmmm … never realized the two meanings. LOL
Have a great weekend, Keith. Be Safe

Easily confused! I had crutches years ago when I damaged my ankle and I just couldn’t work them! At home I went around on hands and knees! Thanks Isadora.

Thank you for the morning chuckle, Keith. I could imagine you navigating that way. I’ve done that when I’ve fallen and can’t get up. LOL Have a good week … Be Safe
