Forty-eight words

for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is Histrionics and the limit, 48 words.

.

Rupert’s histrionic demeanour suited him perfectly for the role of King Henry V. He looked splendid in his suit of armour, Shakespeare would have been impressed.

He gazed skyward, raised his lance and strode forward.

“Once more unto the breach…” he yelled as he toppled off the stage.

    Dear Keith,

I’m sure all who were present will remember Rupert’s grand performance. 😀

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Hi Keith – well I guess it’d be a painted costume … sad … much more fun to hear the clunk of the armour hitting the deck. A good histrionic take on the prompt – take care and don’t get blown away as October turns to November … Hilary

I’m sure he’d rather it had been a real one after that tumble! Hold on tight, it sure is an unsettled outlook in more ways than one. Cheers, Hilary.

Could have been worse, could have been Richard III, he would have a horse on top of him!

I was the rear end of a horse on stage once. Just thought I’d mention it!

Always a mistake looking skyward while striding forward! Maybe this is how that saying got started, you know, “break a leg”?
