One hundred words …

for Friday Fictioneers

I’m at a crossroads in my life.  Should I continue as I am or change direction?  What’s the right thing to do with what’s left of my days?

(See what I did there? Right, left!)

But I’ve had fun, even naughty fun, and I want more.

(What? Mind your own business!)

Or should I take life more seriously?  Maybe travel a bit.  I’ve read about yellow beaches and green valleys.

(Red, yellow, green, get it?)

Wakey-wakey, daydreaming again. I didn’t notice the lights go green.

“No need to hoot, I’m moving”.

Oh f***!

“Sorry mate”.

I selected reverse.  Seems nothing’s gonna change!

I think I was behind you at the intersection the other day. The green arrow to turn? I was honking my horn? Daydreaming Huh?

It’s easily done. Some of the best conversations are to be held with yourself.

Excellent analogy of life Keith, I always seem to be in the wrong lane going the wrong way!

    Naughty fun?
    Does Rosey know?
Or has she already parked all that nonsense?

Keith, that was a fun one! I liked your take on the prompt as being very creative, even if the daydreams are kind of random for us. Good humor throughout!

    Dear Keith,

I’d say he chose the wrong moment to change directions. 😉 Fun stuff. Love he frog. Hoot! Hoot!

Well, Keith, I’d recommend more driving and less daydreaming … and … perhaps, deferring important decisions to later … 😉

Perhaps he is at crossroads talking to Hecate in his mind. 😀.
I think many of us have these sorts of day dreams, very realistic. Fun read K.

A good chuckle for me tonight, Keith.
I’ve had so many times I seem to have conversations at traffic lights until the car behind honks to wake me. LOL
Great tale …. Be safe … Be Healthy … Be Happy

Ah! Those conversations in our head, haven’t we all been there. Especially on a solo drive, stuck in traffic.
I love the analogies you drew. Deft as always. I hope you didn’t reverse into Rosey. She is gonna give you one tough time, Keith!

    Be well.

I often come up with ideas for stories when on a boring journey! As for Rosey, she’d never let me forget it!

I agree, sometimes if feels like forever waiting for traffic lights to change, and everything goes into reverse.

Ha! Ha! Nice one. Dreamers have to make sacrifices. Though some days it does feel as if you are driving the wrong way up a one way lane.

Traffic lights do provide a good opportunity to overthink and daydream. I liked the little elbow-nudges in brackets!

That was good for a laugh. I especially enjoyed the parentheticals.
