A few words…

for Friday Fictioneers

hellofreeday.demo

Alarm clock rings

Hop out of bed

Leap in the shower

Drag on some clothes

Coffee too hot

Scald my mouth

Burn the toast

Trip over the cat

Make a sandwich

Stick in a tub

Pop on a lid

Put in my bag

Run to the station

Squeeze on the train

Rush to the office

Stare at a screen

Nip to the park

Swallow my  lunch

Back to work

Start over again

Time to go home

Stand on the train

Pushed and jostled

Get off again

Rush in the door

Pour a large drink

Collapse on the couch

Take

a deep

breath

Re…lax.

    Dear Keith,

I’m out of breath after reading that. Pour me a glass, will you? Well done.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

LOL! This took me on a ride … made me tired just to read it … 😉 Now … deep breath …
Oh, wait my work day still awaits … 😉

Thankfully my day isn’t quite that way (anymore … though there were times it used to be … and I don’t miss them …) 😉

That’s brilliant, I can certainly relate to that in my younger working days.

You summed up the day quite well. I was wondering what happened in the spaces between the lines. The impact is deadlier than that of a routine.

The hectic routines of modern life that we get sucked into. I’m out of breath just reading that!

You must be fit, with all that rushing around. Somedays are like that a bit of a groundhog day. Keep smiling.
I think the short line poetry fits the urgency and shortness of breath, loved it.

I probably was back then! I rarely enter the world of poetry so I’m relieved it had the desired effect. Thanks so much, James.

    Nicely done.
But I think your character needs to spend some time with my big-kid, comic-book guy. ;0)

A day in the life … !!! Work and all that comes with it.
    Quite descriptive. I’ll have a Pinot Grigio, please. ~~~ : – )

The rat race has never sounded so catchy! A fun take on the prompt.
