The A-Z Challenge is over for another year things will hopefully now get back to normal! After writing 26 light-hearted children’s stories, I thought I’d write something dark and intense. Then I changed my mind! Here goes…

Just thirty minutes until my interview and I was lost.

I saw a priest. ‘Onward to St Christophers, upwards at the Synagogue, cross at the Methodist chapel and ask again’.

I asked a bloke on a bench. ‘See the Black Horse? Turn, hic, right to the Kings Arms, burp, left to the George…’ then he nodded off!

An old lady said ‘Pass the doctors then the retirement home and at the hospital ask someone else’.

I made it and got the job! I said a prayer of thanks at the chapel, had too many celebratory drinks in the George, slipped up and landed in hospital!

    Excellent Keith, each individual has their own landmarks. Congratulations on completing another A to Z, I missed out this year, just not enough time!

      We do indeed. A-Z is a huge commitment and I miss all my regular fun.- not sure I’ll do it again. Thanks Iain.

        I post an A To Z story every two weeks. 26 letters = 52 weeks = 1 year…. Then it’s time to start all over again, and I don’t miss anything. Think about doing it that way.
        Cute story, but doesn’t EVERYBODY have GPS on their phone these days? Oops – SAT-NAV for you blokes across ‘The Pond.’ 😆

    I hope he makes it out of the hospital for his first day! Or maybe the hospital is a wake up call?

    It’s funny. Just the other day I was saying that the art of asking for directions is being lost thanks to GPS.

    Ha, I love how everyone has their own perspective on the route, then he goes and visits everywhere. Good job he didn’t ask a policeman, he might have ended up in jail 🙂

    Funny story, Keith. What would we do without landmarks? The same is true here. The direction will be beside, across the street from, above, near, etc. Directions are often asked along the way. 😀 — Suzanne

    Love how the wayfinding matches each personality. The priest’s reminds me of our Northern relative who was a minister coming down South and commenting that he had never seen so many steeples in one place before!

    Glad you got the job and thanked the lord. Next time, get a better direction and celebrate a little less. Getting selected is half the job, retaining it is another half.
