That one’s oil, this one’s fertilizer and the big one is my secret supply of whisky! She doesn’t allow me to drink. I need the small red one. Right, off to the kitchen!

I’ve fried the onions, browned the meat, and added tomatoes and herbs. The pasta’s boiling. I think that’s done. Let’s serve up.

“Sit up darling, dinner’s ready”

A little salt on mine, and a drop or two of my special condiment in hers; the one in the small red can. Drip, drip and another drip for luck. Done. Spaghetti bolognese. Her favourite. Well, she deserves something special for her final meal.

    Dear Keith,

Oh dear. Sinister indeed. Nicely done….well you, the writer, not your MC. 😉

    Shalom,

Your qualifications as sous chef have started fading, LOL. A little thallium goes a long way, doesn’t it? (At least six feet.)

Hi Keith – having just watched a few clips about cyanide poisoning by killers … I can visualise this rather too well! Cheers Hilary

He has way too many fatal secrets. I guess he’ll get to drink all he wants when the deed is done. Very sinister indeed!

Poison in the oilcan – just don’t mix them up next time he’s fine tuning the car – that would be a waste 😉

Well. what an unpleasant man! He’d better be careful. Evil usually returns in kind.

Well, how many of us will be able to say that we nibbled our way away with something we love coating our tongues? Lucky. I think… 😀

What are you feeding her poison? Some hideous plan in mind!

Can’t get any more sinister can it!
I think he needs a dose of Rosey. Maybe that will help him lighten up!!

    Good one, Keith.

I have a feeling she did more than just stop him from drinking. Perhaps her ghost will bedevil him, then what will he do? Wonderfully told.

I was thinking maybe he was going to get his cans mixed up, but he knew exactly what he was doing… nice one!

Well, I’ve got to say he sounds fairly brisk, chipper and cheerful about what he’s about to do. Good one.

Wow, you really snuck up on us with this one! Now why would such a nice guy murder his wife? Nice misdirection with frying onions. I assumed the red can had vegetable oil.

A villainous approach in this story. I wonder if she’ll be able to taste his venom in more ways than one. ~~~ : -) Loved it, Keith.

Sometimes I’d like a little red can of my own – and the list’s getting longer 😉 Great story.

I bet he had been dreaming of that for years until she finally pushed him over the edge. Insanity plea perhaps? Or maybe just run for it! Good one Keith. 🙂
