fairy-0006A pointy pink dress of satin and lace, sparkly leggings and silver shoes. Her arms going this way and that, she struggles with a pair of wings. She picks up her wand, and she’s ready. There are spells to perform, happiness to hand out and wishes to fulfil. Felicia the fairy tip-toes into fairyland.

She taps Thomas the ginger tom with her wand. Little Freddy watches as a fairy looking a bit like like his big sister, approaches his playpen. She scatters stardust over his head. He sneezes.

She was certain when she grew up she’d be a real fairy.

Twenty later Felicia is ‘something in the city’. People come to her with dreams of wealth and she loves to grant their wishes. Her stardust is money, her fairyland the bank.

But in quiet moments she’s still the little pink fairy. Moments when she drifts away flitting from flower to flower, swinging from rainbows and frolicking with butterflies.

But she knows it was just a childish dream. She was stupid to have believed it.

A tiny fairy hovered outside her office window. Felicia watched and smiled. It winked then darted off as a dozen pink rose petals floated down from the sky….

Felicia was not stupid. Only when we dare to dream, things start to happen.

Hi Keith – quite delightful and I’m sure a story to be read to little ones around – we can help others … gorgeous – loved the pinkness … when I looked at it first the weather here was ‘not too good’ with heavy rainbows around … so a gentler day today and so far no rain! The sweet of pinkness … lovely – cheers Hilary
